​Dr. David Wittenberg, who has FEMA-led disaster-response and Psychological First Aid training and experience, is currently the Supervisor in charge of the Maui Crisis Services array of services (as procured by AMHD), and a Hawaii licensed psychologist supervising Crisis, outreach, case management, and clinical services to the Resiliency Center-targeted population since 2006. Dr. Wittenberg has overseen staffing, hiring, recruiting, budgeting and financial management, QA, and managing large mental health provider and outreach teams (including assertive outreach specialists, psychiatric nurses and psychiatrists) in Maui County for over 25 years. Dr. Wittenberg was originally trained in FEMA-sponsored disaster mental health response following the wildfires, floods, and earthquake in Southern California following the 1994 Northridge earthquake and has been on Maui since 1996. He also co-manages Maui Counseling Group, which provides Quest and other insurance-based mental health services to 1,000 Maui clients per month.
